Yesterday, Ana Maria and I got to taste the best burger in America at Al’s Burger Shack in Chapel Hill, NC. Located in the Southern Village , this is the second Al’s to open. Not as funky as the original shack located on West Franklin Street, just outside Carrboro city limits, but the burgers and friendly service are just as good.
On July 11th Al’s Burger Shack was voted best American Hamburger (2017) by reviewer rankings on Tripadvisor. Usually busy, but not overly so, they were lined up out the door when we arrived at Al’s around 2 pm yesterday. Word had apparently gotten out. And Al didn’t disappoint.
I had the Classic and Ana Maria had the Paco, of course. It is accented by Persea Americana, which is the national fruit of Mexico.
